Understanding the gender dimensions of internal displacement is critical to informing inclusive and effective prevention and response. As such, at IDMC, we are committed to ensuring that disaggregated data is generated and made accessible to both duty bearers and other key responders operating at the national and global levels.

Advocate for the more systematic collection of disaggregated data to help improve responses to the differentiated needs of displaced people according to their gender, and ensure more targeted actions to address them.
Build a global evidence base on the different roles that displaced women can play as agents of change, and highlight successful policies and practices that help them find durable solutions to their displacement.
