Applying an intersectional lens allows us to develop more effective analysis, advocacy and policies, and take IGC commitments to the next level.
In this one hour interactive virtual workshop led by IGC Champion and Global Board member, Anne-Sophie Lois of Plan International, you will have the opportunity to:
- Deepen your understanding of what intersectionality means.
- Discover tools to develop an intersectional lens.
- Exchange and reflect on how to apply intersectionality to your commitments.
Women and men have different experiences based on aspects of their identity, including race, social class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age and more. We need to move beyond homogenous categorisation and delve into a nuanced understanding of what gendered discrimination and inequity really means. Only then can we be truly inclusive and gender-responsive and leave no-one behind.
