Welcome to “Climate Voices: Leading the Call for Change” – an intergenerational dialogue event co-organised by 2050Today, Phenomenal Women Global and the International Gender Champions network, in partnership with the Open Geneva Festival.
The overall goal of the event is to raise awareness and highlight the importance of climate action at national and international levels in response to escalating consequences on the environment, health and human rights. Specific objectives will be to: Recognise and elaborate on the role of youth; Foster Empowerment; Promote Diversity and Inclusion; Facilitate Inter-disciplinary Knowledge Exchange and Catalyse Action and Collaboration. Discussions will touch on various aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals including SDGs 3, 5, 11, 12, 13 and 17.
The event will include two dialogue sessions and gather international experts as well as youth, senior and gender activists.
1. Climate Justice Dialogue: Discuss local realities impacting civil society, seniors, women and youth to challenge states, framing their climate action as human rights-based and seeking protection under humanitarian law.
2. Gender Equality Dialogue: Acknowledge the achievements and challenges Women Leaders face. Advocate for increased action and involvement of women in decision making processes, and support female led actions on climate change.
