Information

What is the current state of gender and diversity mainstreaming in the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM)?

This side event aims to showcase recent achievements and plans for the future in the implementation of the CCM. To this end, the International Gender Champions Disarmament Impact Group, together with the GICHD and UNIDIR, will introduce a factsheet which identifies entry-points for gender and diversity mainstreaming in line with the CCM and the Lausanne Action Plan. Following the virtual workshop on best practices and lessons learned from practical mainstreaming of gender and diversity in mine action which was held in May this year, the Gender and Diversity Working Group will present key findings and recommendations from their discussions with affected states, donors, operators and survivor organisations. In addition, the CCM Gender Focal Points, represented by the Permanent Mission of France and Permanent Mission of the Republic of Namibia, will present their Terms of Reference and plans for the future.
