The FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, together with the the Permanent Mission of Ireland, the Permanent Mission of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Federal Office for Agriculture of Switzerland (FOAG), and the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), invite you to the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026 Photo Exhibition.

Declared by the United Nations General Assembly, the International Year of the Woman Farmer (IYWF 2026) recognizes the essential and often unrecognized contributions of women across agrifood systems from production to trade. It underscores their pivotal role in ensuring food security, nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, poverty eradication, and economic and climate resilience, while promoting actions to close gender gaps and advance women’s empowerment.

As 2026 also marks the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026), the exhibition will highlight the leadership and contributions of women in pastoral and rangeland communities, and their vital role in sustaining ecosystems, strengthening climate resilience, and supporting inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems.

The exhibition will take place from 16 -23 March 2026 in the historic Salle des Pas Perdus of the Palais des Nations.
