Where:
Auditorium A2, Maison de la Paix
Chemin Eugène Rigot 2E
in Geneva 1202

This event is organised by GENDRO, the Gender Centre @ The Graduate Institute, Geneva and the Global Health Centre @The Graduate Institute, Geneva,  in collaboration with the Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and the World Health Organization on the occasion of World Health Day 2019.

There is a growing appreciation of the need to systematically integrate sex and gender in health research, policies and programmes, and a growing number of health agencies are calling for sex-disaggregated data and gender analysis, and gender sensitive research. Yet, few efforts have been successful in fulfilling these promises, and adequate consideration of gender in research and health programmes remains an exception rather than a rule.

During this panel discussion researchers, policy makers and global health leaders will share their experiences and examine common bottlenecks in integrating sex and gender into health research, data collection, policy and programming as a matter of routine, and explore solutions to these challenges. The goal is to create awareness and commitment towards advancing gender equity in health.

The event will be an opportunity to launch an informal network on ‘Gender, Health and Evidence’ coordinated by GENDRO, inviting interested individuals in Geneva who work on health, gender and research/data to convene quarterly to share experiences and discuss joint actions.
