14th Annual UN Business and Human Rights Forum Side Event United Nations

In the context of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, UN Women, the Delegation of the European Union to the UN in Geneva, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Working Group on Business and Human Rights, the Permanent Mission of Estonia, the Permanent Mission of Nigeria, and the UNDP Business and Human Rights Office are pleased to invite you to “New Frontiers of Business and Gender Equality: Strengthening Partnerships and Action to Promote Digital Equality and Accountability to CEDAW. Accelerating measures to end digital violence against women and girls and redressing feminized poverty through digital rights protection in business operations.”

This session seeks to promote the use and application of digital infrastructure, tech products, and innovative digitization approaches to address digital gender gaps. It aims to move tech companies from mere commitment to accountability, aligned with legally binding treaty standards, while expanding economic opportunities for MSMEs and supporting an inclusive digital economy. The session will examine both the opportunities and challenges posed by digital transformation in advancing women’s rights, with a focus on fostering collaborative approaches to bridging digital gender inequalities and creating a more equitable digital future for women and girls.
