Action for Development is organising a panel discussion followed by a film screening in parallel to the 56th session of the Human Rights Council (HRC56) in Geneva to bring to attention the challenges faced by women living in Afghanistan and those in exile. The discussion aims to shed light on how the international community could support the efforts of women of Afghanistan by advocating for their rights and listening to suggestions from those with lived-experiences.

The Panelists include:
Muska Karimi, Former Human Rights and Gender Integration Director, Ministry of Defense, Afghanistan
Mr Nasir Andisha, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Afghanistan in Geneva
Ms Nargis Nehan, Former Minister of Mines, Petroleum and Industries, Afghanistan
Ms Fereshta Omar, Co-Founder, Oxus Academy

The Discussion will be facilitated by Ms Alison Farnham.
