The IGC Women, Peace and Security Impact Group invites you to a roundtable discussion on the WPS Agenda and Human Rights Mechanisms in Geneva on Friday 14 June from 15:00 to 16:30 CET.
The roundtable discussion will provide an opportunity for the presentation of research findings and recommendations on WPS and Human Rights - Ukraine and Sudan as case studies by Ilayda Isik and Caroline Montag, students at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
Agenda:
- Welcome by Fleur Heyworth, Head of Gender and Inclusive Security at the GCSP, and Madeleine Rees, Secretary General of WILPF.
- Presentation of research findings and recommendations on WPS and Human Rights - Ukraine and Sudan as case studies by Ilayda Isik and Caroline Montag, the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights;
- Reflections from Ambassador Claudia Fuentes Julio, Permanent Representative of Chile to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations in Geneva;
- A discussion facilitated by Madeleine Rees and Fleur Heyworth:
- Reactions to the research findings and recommendations;
- Gaps and opportunities to strengthen coherence and action to advance the WPS agenda in Geneva.
