We believe that Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) have a crucial role in stepping up women's economic empowerment in developing countries.​

​We invite you to join us as we discuss the role of VSS to empower women, this March 8, 2022 at 14h (CET), to celebrate the International Women's Day. During this event, the United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards (UNFSS) will present their forthcoming research on "Exploring the Role of Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS)​ for Women´s Economic Empowerment on the Agriculture Sector​ in Developing Countries".

This event aims to:​

  1. Facilitate a discussion about some of the gender-related issues in the agriculture sector with our key speakers.​

  2. Inform the global community on the gender aspects of VSS—for policy makers to consider best practices to empower women through the adoption of VSS.​

  3. Engage the public and raise awareness on VSS on consumer products—get consumer insights and views on how VSS can contribute to Women's Economic Empowerment.​
