Trafficking in human beings constitutes a serious violation of human rights. The majority of
identified victims are women and girls, their sexual exploitation being the purpose of trafficking
linked to organized crime in most cases.

The total number of victims has grown considerably following the unprecedented increase in
irregular migration and forced displacement, due in particular to armed conflict, persecution and
human rights violations.

France and Sweden have a joint strategy to combat trafficking in human beings for the purpose
of sexual exploitation in Europe and in the world. In this webinar panelists will discuss the French,
Swedish and Dutch strategies, legislation and victim support. They will share best practices
on how to combat trafficking on a national and international level.
