The Hague Champions hold speed mentoring event for International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, the IGC's The Hague Hub, in collaboration with the Australian Embassy in the Netherlands and the Women in International Law Network, organised a speed mentoring session focused on advancing women’s leadership in diplomacy and multilateralism.

The session brought together experienced leaders and early-career professionals for an open and dynamic exchange. Discussions explored key challenges and opportunities, including navigating career pathways, balancing professional and personal responsibilities, fostering inclusive leadership, and supporting the next generation of women leaders in international affairs.

Participants emphasized the importance of shared responsibility in driving progress. As one of the mentors, Gérardine Goh Escolar, noted: “Progress on representation, equality and diversity cannot be the work of women alone. It requires institutions that take the issue seriously, leaders who open doors, and colleagues of every gender who recognise that stronger representation ultimately strengthens institutions themselves.”
